Courgette by Another Name

Monday  is Today's Flowers.

and My Little  MellowYellowBadge
 Zucchini Flower

Zucchini or courgette is a small summer squash belonging to the species Cucurbita pepo with colours varying from green, light green and yellow.
The female flower is a golden blossom on the end of each emergent zucchini. The male flower grows directly on the stem of the zucchini plant in the leaf axils (where leaf petiole meets stem), on a long stalk, and is slightly smaller than the female. Both flowers are edible, and are often used to dress a meal or garnish the cooked fruit. ~ Wikipedia< blockquote>

To Joanne of Poetic Shutterbug, thank you. As you understand, I can't return token of your kindness with an Embedded Below Post Setting that you have.

Anyhow, as an act of appreciation, I will be following you and your blog link will be in my Meme and Blog Page.

Have a lovely day and thank you.

Nice Bonnie. I like the second shot best. The leaves have a lot of character.

Beautiful pictures! They take me right back to the first few years of our marriage when we grew all our own vegetables - except peppers and mushrooms!

I don't have the option of a pop-up comment box on my Wordpress blog, but I can't see a reason it wouldn't work for you...?

Love the yellow!

Beautiful shots of the zucchini flower, and the tiny squash. The bloom has an almost exotic feel to it.

I like the Pop up window too for comments, it seems to work far better than the embedded ones.
